Here’s a few photos from the First Robotics NY Regionals held today at Javiits Center. Really exciting event and the kids loved it.

A bit of video from one of the semi-finals. The first 30 seconds are autonomous – the robots have no human input or controllers, and need to place the yellow doghnuts on the highest rung possible. The next 2 minutes or so are remote controlled, the robots need to place as many ballons on the rungs as possible, and score extra point for arranging them to mimic the red, white and blue First Logo. The last 10 seconds the robots can deploy a mini bot to climb the poles:
